Welcome to the delightful state of IA, also known as Iowa, where the corn grows taller than the beanstalk that took Jack to the land of giants. It’s a magical place where the kids are known for their exceptional swimming skills. They are not your regular paddling toddlers, oh no, they are the mystical Water Weasels of Iowa, the proud tribe of aqua adventurers! Iowa might not be near the ocean, but boy, do these kids love to swim! Their favorite hangouts are the wavy waters of the Mississippi River, serene Lake Red Rock, and the fantastic swimming pools strewn across the state. Every summer, the Water Weasels assemble, diving into splashing adventures that would make even the mermaids green with envy. Leading the pack is their fearless leader, Splish Splash Sam, a young boy with water-goggled eyes and a heart filled with the love of swimming. With webbed swim gloves and a vibrant rubber duck floaty, Sam is an amphibious superstar, conquering every water body with a joyful splash. He's got the spirit of a dolphin, the speed of a sailfish, and the dog-paddle skills that would outshine any Labrador Retriever. Every ripple of laughter, every wave of joy, and every tide of friendship is woven into the fabric of their unique swimming culture. These are the kids who don't merely swim; they embark on bold aquatic quests, hunting for submerged treasures, exploring underwater, and having fun with playful water fights. So, if you're in IA, don't be surprised if you see a trail of wet footprints, because it's just the Water Weasels of Iowa, making a splash!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
At Camp Albrecht Acres, we’ve been providing a unique camping experience for people with special needs since 1975. We’ve grown from a small operation of tent camping to a 40-acre residential camp that serves more than 600 campers each summer. Campers are able to enjoy time in the pool, create art in our arts and crafts section, explore nature in our Beidler Nature Center, and take part in weekly dances. Each activity is adapted to their individual needs and abilities, so everyone is able to participate. We are grateful for the generous support we receive from our community, who understand the importance of recreational services for our population of people with special needs. We thank you for your support, service, and financial contributions, which make the Camp Albrecht Acres experience possible.
