At South Florida Music, we believe that music is an important part of a child’s development. That’s why we’ve chosen to use the Musikgarten curriculum, which is tailored to provide age appropriate musical and developmental activities. Our certified teachers have each trained under master teachers in the field of early childhood music education, and our classes are limited to 12 students per section (10 in our keyboard classes) to ensure a high student to teacher ratio.
We understand that music is a family endeavor, which is why all of our classes require a parent or caregiver to attend with the child. This allows parents and caregivers to spend quality time together with their children, in a stress free and playful environment. South Florida Music is dedicated to providing the highest quality educational experience for children and their families.
Participate and build a strong musical bond with your toddler through singing, chanting, moving, dancing, listening, and playing simple instruments. A mix of stationary and mobile activities will occur, making this level the best choice for children once they begin to walk independently. These activities bridge the natural connection between music and movement, while your child’s musical aptitude, listening abilities, and overall potential are enhanced and further developed.

Musical Cycle of Seasons
Celebrate your child’s love of nature and growing independence through activities which focus on the seasons of the year. Classes are designed to build attention and self-expression and include singing, chanting, moving, focused listening, musical games, exploring musical instruments, creative movement, and storytelling. While many of the activities appear similar to those in Music for Toddlers, children are encouraged to work more independently from their parents/caregivers. Furthermore, this level begins the foundation of musical literacy by applying musical language to simple rhythmic and tonal patterns.

Music Makers at Home
Your child is now ready for the first of this sequential two-year music program, ideally designed to begin in summer or fall. Music Makers: At Home includes singing, creative and structured movement, playing instruments and ensemble work, ear training and guided listening, as well as a developmentally sound approach to music literacy that builds symbolic thinking, concentration, memory, and self-expression. During this first year, children will have the opportunity to play their first melodic instrument, the glockenspiel. They will also begin to read and write simple musical patterns and recognize them in songs while exploring the theme of home environments. The parent or caregiver continues an active role, be it on Zoom or in-person, as well as in the home environment. Weekly participation and practice is important for success.
