About Challenger Baseball WH Sunrise Little League

The Little League Challenger Division was established in 1989 with an inspiring mission: giving mentally and physically challenged boys and girls the chance to experience the joys of Little League Baseball. Not only does the Challenger Division teach the fundamentals of the game, but it also provides invaluable benefits to its players, such as improved self-esteem and teamwork skills. Through the Little League Challenger Division, young athletes with physical and mental disabilities can reap the rewards of participating in sports. On the field, they learn the principles of sportsmanship and fair play, while off the field they gain self-confidence and the ability to work as part of a team. The Challenger Division provides a unique outlet for children with disabilities to benefit from a Little League program tailored to their abilities. The initiative has been successful in teaching important values such as teamwork and respect, while also improving the overall self-esteem of its participants.
