Our league is run entirely by volunteers who are committed to helping children learn the fundamentals of this sport and build valuable skills. The Little League Challenger Division was established in 1989 with an inspiring mission: giving mentally and physically challenged boys and girls the chance to experience the joys of Little League Baseball. Through the Little League Challenger Division, young athletes with physical and mental disabilities can reap the rewards of participating in sports. NFL Flag Football by Cary Harris is a program of NFL Play 60 that provides co-ed opportunities for children ages 5-14 to learn and play one of America's most beloved sports - Football. Through non-contact, continuous activity, the program teaches the fundamentals of football, lessons in teamwork and sportsmanship, as well as physical activity. Founded by Cary Harris, a product of SFV youth football himself, the league provides a unique opportunity for children to learn from a professional athlete and gain real life experiences. The mission of NFL Flag Football by Cary Harris is to provide the best youth flag football experience possible. Each child enrolled will be immersed in a fun, positive, and professional environment that promotes learning and development of football skills in a friendly, competitive atmosphere. The program is also dedicated to giving back to the SFV community, as Harris was once a part of it and benefited from the skills taught, commitment of coaches, and work ethic that propelled his life and career. NFL Flag Football by Cary Harris has been designed to give back to the SFV community and to help young people gain success with the help of football. Tal Junior Tennis provides kids with a unique learning experience. Instead of simply running drills, players are put into game situations against other players or as part of a team. Woodland Hills, Tarzana, Calabasas, Reseda, Winnetka, Canoga Park and West Hills In 1955, a group of dedicated parents saw the need for Little League in the Woodland Hills community. Since then, our league has provided a safe haven for 35,000 children, teaching them the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, loyalty and courage. Our proudest moment came when one of our own, Robin Yount, was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. In 1999, a Sunrise player was selected as "Little League Sportsman of the Year" out of thousands of national entries. Today, our league serves over 750 children from seven communities each year. We strive to keep costs down by finding sponsors and offering scholarships to those in need. Our tireless volunteers coach, umpire, staff the snack shack, and groom the fields.
