The Adventure Day Camp is a family-owned and operated business that has been in the Welch family since 2000. With over 35 years of camp experience, the Welch parents are hands-on with the day camp program. Kevin holds a B.A. in Business from Clark University and has been involved in summer camps since his childhood. His experiences from Agassiz Village, a sleep-away camp in Maine, have been a great asset to the day camp. Meanwhile, Sunshine holds a B.S. in Recreation Administration from California State University, Chico and is certified in Recreational Therapy. She has extensive experience working with children and adults with special needs, including physical, mental, and developmental disabilities. With the Adventure Day Camp, families can feel secure knowing that the Welch parents have over 35 years of camp experience. Kevin Welch, with his B.A. in Business from Clark University and background with sleep-away camps, has a great knowledge of camp operations. Sunshine Welch brings her educational background with a B.S. in Recreation Administration from California State University, Chico, as well as her certification in Recreational Therapy. She has a wealth of experience with special needs populations, including physical, mental, and developmental disabilities. The Adventure Day Camp is run by the Welch family since 2000, and Kevin and Sunshine Welch are heavily involved in the day camp program. Kevin holds a degree in Business from Clark University and Sunshine holds a degree in Recreation Administration from California State University, Chico, and is certified in Recreational Therapy. With over 35 years of summer camp experience and their personal backgrounds, the Welch family are well-equipped to provide campers with a safe, enriching camp experience.

Ages 3-15 in Moraga

Adventure Day Camp is a traditional summer camp experience that centers on the bonding and memories that are formed with fellow campers and our amazing staff. We promote group unity and hope to create an atmosphere where campers feel a sense of "family" within these groups and within the camp as a whole. Our program is fairly structured for weeks 1 & 2 of each session. During this time, campers will be offered the opportunity to participate in all of their available activities. It's during week 3 that we offer all of our activities as CHOICE OPTIONS during each afternoon. At this point of the session our campers know what they love so now it is time go explore!

Ages 4-14 in San Ramon

Our summer camp program at the San Ramon location closely parallels Adventure Day Camp other traditional program in Moraga, CA. We offer a traditional summer camp experience that includes exposure to a wide variety of mostly outdoor, recreational activities including sports, horseback riding, boating, swimming, archery, art, music, climbing, hiking, and much more. Most activities are offered in a small group setting with campers of similar ages. As the session progresses, campers have the opportunity to choose their activities while still maintaining that important connection to their group and their Camp Counselor.

Enrichment Afternoon Camp

Adventure Day Camp offers 2 options for families enrolled in The Dorris - Eaton morning Academic Workshops. 1) We offer 2, three week session options that include a full day first week, followed by 2 weeks of afternoon only programming that corresponds with The Dorris-Eaton morning Enrichment Classes. These Sessions are called Enrichment Afternoon Plus. 2) We offer afternoon only options for families enrolled in The Dorris - Eaton Academic workshops. During the 2 week Enrichment Afternoon Camp, Campers will be met after class to be reunited with their camp groups and participate in all the amazing Adventure Day Camp activities. All of our exciting and fun activities will be offered included Horsemanship, Boating, Swimming, Archery, Skateboarding, and Biking . Campers will have a blast enjoying an afternoon of exciting camp activities and bonding time with their friends and Camp Counselor.
