BeAKid
HAMMERHEADS | Ages 6 - 10

The Vallejo Aquatics Hammerhead Group is an introductory group that will mainly revolve around the kids from the ages of 6 - 10 years old. The Hammerhead Group swimmers will learn and develop stroke fundamentals and balance for all 4 strokes, as well as learn how to be strong in the water. Athletes 10&Under should be learning about how to train but still have FUN incorporated into their fundamentals. Our coaches at VJO try and do their best with Working Hard and Playing Hard too.

BeAKid
JUNIOR GROUPS | Ages 8 - 14

The Vallejo Aquatics Junior Group is a practice group that will mainly revolve around the kids from the ages of 8 - 14 years old. The Junior Group swimmers will learn and develop stroke fundamentals and balance, efficient training habits, and leadership skills. Athletes in this group will start learning the requirements needed in order to move up into the Senior Group. Requirements such as having the maturity to be coachable, leadership skills, accountability and have an enthusiasm about training. VJO’s Junior group will be split into 3 divisions. The divisions will be separated based on age/grade, training ability, time standards achieved, attendance and maturity in the group. The training time/ plan is the same across the whole Junior group, with some slight adjustments depending on upcoming meets. The movement in this group will be made from a collective input between the coaching staff and is based on an evaluation of the current or past season.

SENIOR GROUPS | Ages 12 - 18

The Senior Groups are the most advanced, and oldest, groups on VJO. Athletes in this group will need to show the maturity, both mentally and physically, as well as the responsibilites that come with being in this group. Senior group athletes will be asked to carry the integrity of our team and be an example of what our team represents on top of achieving their own highest individual successes. he Senior group will have 3 divisions. The divisions will be based on training ability, time standards achieved, attendance commitment, and maturity. The movement in this group will be from a collective agreement and input from the Senior Group's coaching staff. The divisions will be made for training purposes and what fits best for the athlete and their needs.
