About Channel Islands Boating Center-CIBC

The Channel Islands Boating Center (CIBC) opened its doors in April 2013 to provide Ventura County’s youth and adults with educational and recreational boating opportunities. In addition to teaching boating skills and safety techniques, the CIBC also serves as a resource to help families gain an understanding of the local marine environment. When you visit the CIBC, you will find the lobby filled with interactive and passive exhibits about the Channel Islands Marine environment and natural history. These exhibits provide a great opportunity for families to learn about current preservation efforts and the impact we have on the environment. The CIBC welcomes individuals and groups to come and visit the center. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned boater, the CIBC offers the perfect opportunity to learn about the local marine environment and gain valuable boating experience.

Summer Watersports Camp
The CIBC Watersports Camp takes full advantage of all the amenities of the beautiful Channel Islands Harbor. The camp offers courses for all skill levels for youth ages 8-15 where campers will find fun, excitement, and a challenge on and off the water. With a safety-first attitude, our professional student instructors allow all campers the opportunity to learn in an enjoyable and safe environment.

School and Youth Group Programs
InstructionThe CIBC is available for day trips or multi-day contracts with schools and youth groups. The CIBC can provide on the water activities and/or provide land-based education. The on the water experience uses our vessels to provide participants a first-hand experience with marine education, how to properly navigate the traffic in the marina, and learn general safe boating practices. The land-based education allows groups to learn interactively about conservation efforts, marine sanctuaries, marine science education, STEM and ocean literacy, nautical education, mapping, and safe boating education. Please contact the CIBC to learn more details regarding these wonderful opportunities for schools or youth groups.
