In the golden sun-kissed state of California, where the sun usually forgets to take a break and the waves of the Pacific Ocean playfully tease the sandy shores, groups of young adventurers gather for a thrilling venture. These are the fishing kids of California! They're not your standard superheroes, but trust me, with a fishing rod in their hands, they could outwit Aquaman! Let me introduce you to their leader, Captain Codfish Charlie, a freckle-faced, red-haired boy with a laughter that can scare away even the grumpiest of sharks. Charlie, with his lucky neon-green fishing cap, which he swears was a gift from a mermaid, leads his squad of fishing enthusiasts. From the rocky cliffs of Big Sur to the misty shores of Monterey, they trail, seeking underwater treasures. Watch out when they cast their lines into the turquoise blue, for the fishy citizens of the deep stand no chance. Be it a sneaky Salmon or a daunting Dory, they all meet their match with these little anglers. However, fear not! Our heroes practice 'catch and release,' ensuring the fishy folks return safely to tell their exciting ‘abduction & release’ tales. But it's not all work and no play. Captain Codfish Charlie believes in the ‘Fisherman's Fiesta’! Every time a new fish is caught, a dance-off ensues right there, on the boat, dock, or shore. And boy, can those kids move! The Seagull Shuffle, the Lobster Leap, you name it, they've got a move for every catch! So, here's to the fishing kids of California, fighting boredom, one cast at a time. In their world, every day is a new adventure, a new tale, a new dance, and always a good laugh!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.

The Channel Islands Boating Center (CIBC) opened its doors in April 2013 to provide Ventura County’s youth and adults with educational and recreational boating opportunities. In addition to teaching boating skills and safety techniques, the CIBC also serves as a resource to help families gain an understanding of the local marine environment. When you visit the CIBC, you will find the lobby filled with interactive and passive exhibits about the Channel Islands Marine environment and natural history. These exhibits provide a great opportunity for families to learn about current preservation efforts and the impact we have on the environment. The CIBC welcomes individuals and groups to come and visit the center. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned boater, the CIBC offers the perfect opportunity to learn about the local marine environment and gain valuable boating experience.
