About Halau Makana

Hālau Makana is proud to be the only Polynesian Dance Company in Alameda, California. They have been delighting audiences in the Bay Area with their colorful and energetic performances for many years now. Hālau Makana has been a part of numerous festivals in Alameda and the Bay Area, as well as many local events, such as corporate events, cultural festivals, private parties and community gatherings. Their ho‘ike (recitals) and Hula Holidays Christmas Shows are a popular tradition, often selling out. The hālau teaches dances from Hawai‘i, Tahiti and New Zealand and welcomes dancers of all ages and skill levels. It is a unique opportunity to experience authentic Polynesian culture and entertainment.
