Steve Allison has been training in martial arts for over 30 years and he is here to help you with your martial arts journey. He is committed to creating an enjoyable and safe learning environment, helping to improve your fitness and well-being, building your confidence in everyday life, and teaching the very best martial arts and self-defense in the Madison West area. Steve understands the importance of teaching his students beyond the physical aspects of martial arts, and helps to develop their state of mind and body. Through this, his students gain life skills and ethics that help them succeed in school, work, and home.

Karate

The ATA Tiger curriculum program was developed specifically for preschool age children ages 3 through 6. This program offers children a strong foundation in essential character qualities such as courtesy, respect, and discipline. In addition, it is designed to improve children's motor skills and enhance their ability to pay attention and follow directions.
​This curriculum should provide students with the most fun and exciting training methods available for this age group. This program works in conjunction with other programs, thereby emphasizing the same important monthly themes and value system. Upon graduation, ATA Tigers graduate into the Karate Kids program with ease as the material is consistent.

TIGERS | 3 - 6

The foundation of the Karate for Kids curriculum is the education and development of life-skills such as positive mental attitude, high goal setting, perseverance, self-control and confidence. Karate for Kids training is designed to be fun and fulfilling for each student. This is because Taekwondo is an individual activity rather than a team sport. Therefore every student is an active and valuable participant in class. 

They work out with kids their own age and progress at their own pace. The ATA Karate for Kids program is perfect for parents looking for an activity that is not just great exercise but that also teaches their school age children lessons they will use throughout their life. The way children learn and what motivates them is the reason we offer a program exclusively for children.

Martial arts provides balance to this problem. No matter if you are after physical fitness, self-defense, or even just an athletic social outlet, we provide an environment that is positive and promotes a YES I CAN attitude. Training can take both your home life and work life to that next level. As an added bonus you will likely make friends with people who have common interests? Many of our students state that the time that they spend in class is an oasis in the middle of their lives where they can focus on themselves without feeling selfish or guilty.

My kid, who is now 8 years old, began training at ATA Madison West when he was 7 years old in order to become an ATA Black belt like his father. When he was in high school, my husband earned his second degree black belt; however, he has since made the decision to join ATA Madison West to carry on with his ATA training. We adore the institution and the passion Mr. Allison and the other teachers have for Taekwondo and the ATA. Even though our kid has epilepsy, narcolepsy, and autism, he always feels quite successful after class. We couldn't have asked for a more uplifting and secure setting!
