At Icaghowan, kids and teens (ages 7 to 17) from all walks of life and abilities have the chance to cultivate their integrity, independence, and leadership skills. Set on 120 picturesque acres of land located near Amery, Wisconsin, this one-of-a-kind camp features 44 acres of island on the majestic Lake Wapogasset. And to make things even more special, three incredible treehouses dot the landscape, affording campers the chance to marvel at the beauty of the forest canopy. 

Icaghowan is a camp experience unlike any other. With its stunning surroundings and the chance to explore the natural environment, this unique camp gives kids and teens the opportunity to build important life skills. With a focus on integrity, self-reliance, and leadership, Icaghowan's 120-acre property near Amery, Wisconsin, provides an incredible backdrop for growth. Situated on 44 acres of island on Lake Wapogasset, this camp also features three remarkable treehouses that allow campers to get a bird's eye view of the forest.

Each day is packed with activities, adventure, and opportunities to learn new skills. Campers enjoy a variety of activities including swimming, nature hikes, arts and crafts, boating, climbing, target sports and more.

The week includes all-camp games, evening campfires, and outdoor exploration with cabin groups, target sports, drama, field games and more. Each camper will also experience an overnight in one of our treehouses, yurts or platform tents around the island. Campers end their day sharing stories and planning their adventures for tomorrow.



Traditional Camp, Entering Grades 2-7

Perfect for the first-time camper, the Summer Sampler gives new campers the opportunity to try a little of all that camp has to offer including swimming, arts and crafts, archery, gaga ball, a cabin cookout and much more. It’s such a great sample of camp that they’ll want to come back for a whole week next year!



Summer Samplers, Grades 2-3

Two week campers participate in many typical camp activities like swimming, arts and crafts, archery, boating and similar to our Traditional Campers, they also receive an introduction to our trail program. Instead of a one night overnight experience our two week campers experience a 2 night overnight at a neighboring State Park and learn a bit more about outdoor cooking, wilderness skills, camping etiquette.

YMCA Camp Icaghowan

This location was used by a Teen Canoe group staying at YMCA Camp Heritage. We spent the night at a stunning campsite and slept up in the trees in the Otter's Lookout treehouse.
