At Camp Burnt Gin, children, teens, and young adults with physical disabilities and chronic illnesses can enjoy a summer camp experience like no other. Operated by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, this Division of Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs program provides a unique opportunity for campers to develop self-esteem and independence, as well as the skills necessary to live a healthy lifestyle.

Through a variety of activities designed to foster friendship, improve physical and emotional well-being, and encourage self-advocacy, Camp Burnt Gin is sure to be an unforgettable experience.
The days at camp are filled with a variety of activities that can be adapted so that every camper can participate. The evening program varies each night and includes a talent show, dance, campfire, and award ceremony. Our summer camp program allows our campers the opportunity to be independent, try new things, learn new skills, and make new friends.
