In the bustling, pizza-smelling, and sky-scraper-filled world of New York, you'd hardly expect to find a troop of kids who love nothing more than to cast their lines into the shimmering blue waters. But, believe it or not, they do exist! They're known as the "Fish-Whispering Rugrats of the Empire State."

Meet Finn, their fearless leader. He's a chubby-cheeked, freckle-faced, ten-year-old with glasses so big they could double as satellite dishes. Funnily enough, Finn isn't a big fan of fish to eat. "They're too squiggly," he says, scrunching up his nose. But, when it comes to fishing, Finn is the young king of the Hudson.

Finn and the gang don their fishing caps, grab their poles, and journey out to the city's rivers, lakes, and streams every chance they get. They brave the giant, growling New York City taxis, dart past street performers juggling flaming torches, and even navigate through the wilds of Central Park to find the perfect fishing spot. They're out there come rain or shine, snow or sleet, looking for that next big catch.

And when they're not out reeling in fishy friends, these pint-sized anglers are busy inventing new and goofy fishing techniques. There's the "Bagel Bait," where they use leftover NYC bagels as lures. Or the "Statue Still," where they stand as still as the Statue of Liberty hoping not to scare the fish. And let's not forget the "Subway Shimmy," a dance that apparently makes the worms wriggle extra enticingly!

So, next time you find yourself in the Empire State, keep your eyes peeled for Finn and his fish-whispering companions, turning the city's waterways into their own adventurous fishing tales.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

The hard work and dedication of Mel Northrop, Colin Caldwell, and Stephen Smith to start a summer Bible camp for children paid off in July 1952 when the first Camp Li-Lo-Li opened at Allegany State Park. Despite the fact that these three men had never run a camp before, their passion for the ministry inspired them to learn the ins and outs of running a camp and they succeeded in their mission. The camp was named by 11-year-old Betty Carol Northrop in a naming competition and stands for Life-Love-Light, all attributes of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Sky Lake is one of five camp and retreat centers owned and operated by the Upper New York Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. This camp and retreat center is part of the Camp & Retreat Ministries. It is supervised by The Executive Director of Camp & Retreat Ministries and overseen by the Committee on Camp & Retreat Ministries. At Sky Lake, visitors are encouraged to grow in their relationship with God, be the body of Christ within the world, and live in accordance with the example of Jesus Christ. 

Sky Lake provides a unique and meaningful experience for visitors, providing them with engaging, equipping and empowering activities. Through these activities, visitors are encouraged to build relationships with their neighbors, especially those who have been disenfranchised by mainstream society. The camp and retreat center also strives to develop leadership within the laity and clergy that is diverse yet united by their love for Christ. 

Sky Lake is the perfect place for visitors who wish to deepen their connection with God and build meaningful relationships with their neighbors. With the help of the Camp & Retreat Ministries staff and volunteers, visitors will be able to engage in meaningful activities that will help them grow in their relationship with God, be the body of Christ within the world, and live in accordance with the example of Jesus Christ.

The Rotary Clubs of District 7255 have long been dedicated to helping those with special needs. Through their tireless efforts, they established Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck, a 37-acre site on the shores of Kaler's Pond in Center Moriches, which has been providing a safe and fun environment for individuals with disabilities for more than 70 years. Campers are given the opportunity to participate in activities such as boating, arts and crafts, music, adaptive sports, swimming, campfires and more. 

Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is a testament to the dedication of the Rotary Clubs of District 7255 and the Pa-Qua-Tuck Squaws who have worked tirelessly to make this camp possible. Their generosity and support have enabled thousands of campers to experience the joys of summer in a safe and supportive environment. We are grateful for their commitment to helping those with special needs and look forward to continuing to provide life-enhancing experiences for many more years to come.

For over 60 years, Camp Cedarbrook has been a place of spiritual growth and adventure for girls. At this rustic Christian camp, girls ages 7-17 can discover a unique community of faith and explore who they are in Christ. Through outdoor activities, skill-building workshops, and worship services, campers can gain confidence to face life’s challenges, build relationships, and grow in their relationship with God. 

Camp Cedarbrook is dedicated to creating an environment where your daughter can thrive. Their counselors are passionate, experienced Christian women who will support and guide your child as she navigates her faith journey and builds relationships with her peers. At Camp Cedarbrook, your daughter will have the opportunity to learn new skills, strengthen her relationship with God, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Camp Overlook is an exciting and educational summer camp experience for kids ages 6-19. Established in 1945 as a 4-H camp, it is owned by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Franklin and St. Lawrence County. Campers will enjoy plenty of outdoor fun, while also learning important life lessons such as positive social interactions, building skills, and environmental awareness. Counselors and professionals are on hand to provide guidance and support, ensuring campers have a safe and positive experience.

4-H Camp Overlook is more than just a summer camp. It is a year-round outdoor learning center, providing children with an opportunity to grow in a natural Adirondack environment. Campers are challenged to develop personal growth, while being surrounded by positive role models. The mission of 4-H Camp Overlook is to create an atmosphere where youth can take part in meaningful activities that emphasize community building, skill building, and of course, fun!

Campers at 4-H Camp Overlook can look forward to an unforgettable summer experience of learning, growth, and outdoor fun. As a 4-H camp, their mission is to provide an environment where youth can take part in activities that emphasize positive social interactions, environmental awareness, skill building, and of course, having a great time. With professional and supportive counselors, kids can feel safe and have a truly meaningful experience that will stay with them for years to come.

4-H Camp Overlook

Camp Hilltop has been a part of the Hancock, New York community since 1924. This beautiful camp is situated on 600 acres of woodlands and fields, with a private lake, in the picturesque Catskill Mountains, just two and a half hours from New York City. This summer camp offers a variety of activities, including water skiing, wakeboarding, trapeze, hiking, horses, climbing tower, high ropes, and many sports, performing arts and arts and crafts. We strive to provide a safe, nurturing and non-competitive environment, with a four to one camper to counselor ratio, overseen by a mature, skilled and caring staff. 

Camp Hilltop is more than just a summer camp; it’s a place where children and young adults can find a friendly and fun community and explore the wondrous possibilities in their lives. Friends of Camp Little Notch have created a breathtaking paradise for campers to enjoy. With 443 acres of pristine Adirondack wilderness and a private 80-acre lake, the property is ideal for a summer camp experience. But Camp Little Notch is more than a summer camp - it offers a range of programming including CLN-sponsored retreats, family programs, and private rentals for individuals, families, weddings, and businesses. These programs aim to connect people with nature while building self-confidence, forming strong relationships, and fostering an appreciation of the natural world.

The mission of Skye Farm is to live the gospel of Jesus Christ and be God’s love with our neighbors in all places. At Skye Farm, we believe in three core truths: that there is a God, that God loves us, and that God desires a relationship with us. All of our activities and programming are designed to reinforce this.

At our non-profit children's camp, we strive to provide a safe and welcoming space for kids to experience the joys of summer camp.
