As dawn breaks on the fantastic Empire State, better known as New York, a peculiar sound resonates through the city, bouncing off the skyscrapers, and rippling through the bridges. It's not the typical honking of the traffic, nor the chirping of the birds. Instead, it's a splash! A splash that sets off a wave of excitement in the hearts of all the little aquatic adventurers of the state. Yes, we're talking about the fearless, fun-loving, flipper-footed kids who plunge into the world of swimming.

Our story stars Bobby "The Bubble" McGee, a pint-sized swimmer with a heart as vast as the Atlantic Ocean. With his neon-green goggles, a swim cap that looks like a purple octopus, and a toothy grin that could outshine the Statue of Liberty, Bobby is the unofficial mayor of the kiddie pools. He's not the fastest or the most graceful swimmer, but boy does he make a splash!

Across the state, from the chilly dips in Lake George to the backstrokers in Brooklyn, the kids of New York are all part of Bobby's big splash brigade. They dive into the water with determination thicker than a New York pizza, slicing through the water like a knife through cream cheese on a bagel. Every kick, every stroke, every breath is a declaration of their love for the sport. 

Through the lens of the Hubble Bubble Telescope (a fancy name for Bobby's goggles), you'll see kids floating, splashing, and giggling, turning the pools into their playground. So, the next time you hear a splash in New York, know that it's likely another member of Bobby's brigade, adding their own splash of magic to the swimming scene. As they say in the Big Apple, "If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere!" even in the deep end.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

The hard work and dedication of Mel Northrop, Colin Caldwell, and Stephen Smith to start a summer Bible camp for children paid off in July 1952 when the first Camp Li-Lo-Li opened at Allegany State Park. Despite the fact that these three men had never run a camp before, their passion for the ministry inspired them to learn the ins and outs of running a camp and they succeeded in their mission. The camp was named by 11-year-old Betty Carol Northrop in a naming competition and stands for Life-Love-Light, all attributes of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Camp Cedarbrook is dedicated to creating an environment where your daughter can thrive. Their counselors are passionate, experienced Christian women who will support and guide your child as she navigates her faith journey and builds relationships with her peers. Sky Lake is one of five camp and retreat centers owned and operated by the Upper New York Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. This camp and retreat center is part of the Camp & Retreat Ministries. It is supervised by The Executive Director of Camp & Retreat Ministries and overseen by the Committee on Camp & Retreat Ministries. At Sky Lake, visitors are encouraged to grow in their relationship with God, be the body of Christ within the world, and live in accordance with the example of Jesus Christ. 

Sky Lake provides a unique and meaningful experience for visitors, providing them with engaging, equipping and empowering activities. Through these activities, visitors are encouraged to build relationships with their neighbors, especially those who have been disenfranchised by mainstream society. The camp and retreat center also strives to develop leadership within the laity and clergy that is diverse yet united by their love for Christ.

Since 1927, the JCC of Binghamton has been a vital part of the Broome County community. Located south of the University Plaza, the JCC is a dynamic institution, enriching the lives of all ages through its wide variety of services. These range from day care, day camp and youth recreation leagues to aquatics, health and wellness, adult education, social, holiday and cultural programming.

The mission of the JCC is to inspire healthier lives, engaging participants in expanding their minds, and playing an active role in their community. Camp JCC

The Rotary Clubs of District 7255 have long been dedicated to helping those with special needs. Through their tireless efforts, they established Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck, a 37-acre site on the shores of Kaler's Pond in Center Moriches, which has been providing a safe and fun environment for individuals with disabilities for more than 70 years. Campers are given the opportunity to participate in activities such as boating, arts and crafts, music, adaptive sports, swimming, campfires and more. 

Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is a testament to the dedication of the Rotary Clubs of District 7255 and the Pa-Qua-Tuck Squaws who have worked tirelessly to make this camp possible. Their generosity and support have enabled thousands of campers to experience the joys of summer in a safe and supportive environment. We are grateful for their commitment to helping those with special needs and look forward to continuing to provide life-enhancing experiences for many more years to come.
