At Garden State Music Center, we understand how important it is for you and your child to have a safe and healthy experience while taking music lessons. That’s why we’ve implemented a number of precautionary measures to ensure the safety of everyone. Our music teaching rooms have been outfitted with plastic barriers or curtains so that everyone can enjoy their lesson safely and with appropriate distancing. We’ve also increased our store-wide sanitation efforts, including professional HVAC duct and air system cleaning, to reduce the risk of germs being spread. 

If you’re looking for an extra layer of protection, we also invite you to schedule professional cleaning of your instrument at our shop. We understand that taking precautions to keep everyone healthy is more important than ever, and we’re committed to doing our part.

Whether you are a beginner or an advanced musician, Garden State Music Center and our staff of knowledgeable and friendly music teachers, offer a wide variety of instructional music lessons, ranging from private, one-on-one instruction at our location to online virtual makeup lessons. We cater to children and adults of all skill levels and offer lessons for all types of instruments, including piano, guitar, bass, drums, cello, violin, upright bass, viola, oboe, saxophone, trumpet, clarinet, vocal, ukulele, trombone, flute, and many more.

Our music lessons are centered around helping aspiring musicians or those with a passion for music develop and grow their skill set. Each of our instructors brings patience and kindness into each session and is ready to work with students to move at a pace that is comfortable for them.

All I want to say is that Bill Merritt, the proprietor of Garden State Music, was amazing with my stepson while he took guitar lessons from him. Bill always went above and beyond for him, mending his guitar, changing his strings, and giving him anything he needed without charging him. Bill took a brand-new guitar strap off the wall when my stepson arrived for lessons without one, telling us not to worry about it. Bill also gave him brand-new books, picks, and other accoutrements while we were there. Bill is a wonderful musician and a kind person. Everyone should visit and support his company!
