In the enchanted realm of New Jersey, where the wild Atlantic waves dance with the sandy shores, and lofty skyscrapers reach out to tickle the clouds, there exists a tribe of extraordinary kiddos known as the Sew-Stitch Warriors. This merry band, armed with nothing but a needle and thread, embark on epic adventures of creativity, stitching together a kaleidoscope of colorful dreams. Meet the unassuming leader of the tribe, Sir Pincushion, a dashing knight with a round belly like a well-stuffed teddy bear. He's known far and wide for his uproarious laughter that could twitch the needles on a pine tree, and his magical, ever-flowing thread that never seems to end. Sir Pincushion, despite his endless humor, takes one thing seriously - his beloved craft. The Sew-Stitch Warriors come from every corner of the vibrant Garden State, from the bustling boardwalks of Seaside Heights to the tranquil cornfields of Sussex County. They are a diverse bunch; some are expert button sewers, while others prefer to weave wacky designs onto denim jackets. Laughter is their common language, and if you listen closely, you can hear their merriment echo throughout the state, like the sweetest melody. On grey, dreary days, when the sky is filled with grumbling clouds, and the Atlantic appears less dancey, more moody, the Sew-Stitch Warriors gather in a secret tree-house, nestled in the heart of a hidden forest. In this cosy sanctuary, they stitch and sew a symphony of colours and patterns, their laughter lighting up the grey canvas of the day. At the heart of it all, Sir Pincushion chuckles away, his belly bobbing in rhythm to the joyous cadence of the Sew-Stitch Warriors of New Jersey.

We teach students grades 1-12 the fundamentals of sewing to help explore their creativity. Our instructors nurture and help build self esteem. From after school sewing classes in the classroom to fashion programs in local recreation centers and other locations, we love teaching kids to sew and how to design clothes they’re proud to wear. On Saturdays we offer sessions at our Home Studio in the Netherwood Heights Historic District of Plainfield, NJ. We are always busy with planning Fashion Summer Camps, NYC fashion field trips, Girl Scout Events & Service Projects & Fashion Birthday Parties. Our students [Fashion Designers] start with the sketch (croquis) and technical details, choose and render the fabric, learn the proper way to make a pattern, including measuring each other, and understand the importance of this process to the final FIT of the garment. They learn how to pin and how to use a sewing machine to create the entire garment, including the final fitting. Finally, on the last day of our fashion design sewing classes, we hold our very own Fashion Show.
