About Shua Life Skills in Highland Park, NJ

The staff at Shua Life are the most cooperative, professional and organized team of people I have ever worked with. The founder and creator of Shua Life Ron Shuali is extremely well spoken and passionate about his job and it shows in his program and with his employees. He is full of energy and has set very high standards for his company and demands excellence from his employees. I have had the opportunity to work with Ron for the past five years and he has shown my children, parents and staff the utmost respect. His program is top notch and well rounded. The children are learning that exercise is fun and rewarding. They are also learning valuable life lessons: respect, cooperation and self confidence. All of his trainers are reliable, dependable, and a pleasure to work with. The office staff are efficient, cooperative, helpful and courteous at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend Ron and his team to anyone!!!

Preschool

Our class structure follows a traditional lesson plan format. Each class contains 6 components that creates one dynamic learning environment created specifically for the early childhood environment. Directors and teachers appreciate the level of energy and excitement generated in the class and how the programs are designed to teach and reinforce life skills throughout the entire class. Parents are overjoyed when they learn that they don't have to drive their child to a soccer class or karate school when the program is right in their school. Each 30-45 minute class begins with a warm up game, a body weight calesthetic exercise and a systematic full body dynamic stretching routine. Ensuring that each child creates and maintains strong muscles, joints, lungs and heart is the ground floor of fitness for their future healthy body building. The next component is an activity specific lesson that teaches the skill of the week. This could be anything from a karate song, to passing the soccer ball to a sun salutation. We continue the learning fun by playing a game that relates to the specific activity. Lastly we all get into a circle criss cross applesauce and talk about a life skill like respect or teamwork or we do a deep breathing meditation. It still amazes me when a 3 year old takes on deep breathing and how it changes them. With your help, more children could learn these skills.

Shua Fun Do

The Shua Fun Do martial arts program is a unique system that teaches through movement and songs as opposed to other systems which spend too much time talking and giving instructions. We do not use uniforms and belts in our system. Like the great Master Bruce Lee, we believe that martial arts is a way of life. Master Lee's students trained in their jeans and street shoes, to simulate the real situations of life when they would have to use their martial arts. The life skill of RESPECT taught in our classes should be taken out into the child's life, not just their classroom. The Shua Fun Do techniqes are based on Japanese Karate, Okinawan Isshinryu and Chinese Kung Fu principles. The session ends with a board breaking and medal ceremony that parents are welcome to come watch. Our belief is that once your child takes our classes, they will have an advantage when you walk in with them to any type of martial arts school in the future. The techniques of different styles are easy to learn. It's the discipline and respect that is the toughest to teach, and for us, the greatest challenge and fun.

Super Sports

Super Sports is an exciting and educational program of sports, life skills and fitness designed specifically for the young child. Classes help students develop their large motor skills and coordination, while improving their posture and creating an early desire to become physically active and love moving their bodies. The life skill of leadership is taught as each child gets multiple opportunities to be a class leader. Some children will discover that they enjoy the attention and strength brought out by being a leader. Others may choose otherwise. This class gives them the chance to experience it first. Each class the children are exposed to various age appropriate versions of many popular sports. Sports like soccer, football, basketball, golf, tennis, frisbee, cricket, volleyball, frolf, martial arts and more. When a young child discovers a sport they like, they will most likely continue with it through their growing years. Let your child discover their sport. Let them discover Super Sports.
