Evolutionary Martial Arts (EMA) is a martial arts academy and fitness facility that has been operating in Hackettstown since 2003. We offer a variety of age-specific children’s programs for ages 3+ where children will learn respect, focus, responsibility, conflict resolution, and practical self-defense, all while having a blast. Our teen programs get kids off the couch and away from the video games to get fit, healthy, confident, and motivated while learning practical self-defense skills.

LITTLE NINJAS: AGES 3 - 5
Our little ninjas pre-school martial arts program has been called ” the best program that we’ve found for our child” by ema parents. Our classes are fun, structured, high energy, and filled with our life skills learning games and martial arts “drills to build skills” Our students learn to follow directions and focus on balance, self-discipline, fitness, memory and coordination building activities in a safe, nurturing environment.

EMA Confident Kids: Ages 6 - 10
Our EMA Confident Kids program for 6-10 year olds incorporates all of our best practical self defense skills. They’ll learn functional, practical and age appropriate lessons in Boxing, Kick-Boxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, Filipino Martial Arts, Israeli Martial Arts, Bully Proof lessons and de-escalation skills to keep them safe, confident and stress free.

EMA Juniors and Teens: Ages 11 - 16
Our Juniors and Teens Program for ages 11-16 is a unique, specialized program for preteens and teens who are facing all of the challenges of becoming young adults. Through martial arts lessons, techniques and strategies we teach our students to take personal responsibility, accountability, and empowerment through diligence and hard work. One way of expressing that is that excuses are like dirty socks. At the end of the day, everyone has a pair and they stink.
