Parents Magazine is proud to introduce Porch Light Productions, a New Jersey theatre company established in 2005. For the past 15 years, Porch Light has been producing professional and educational theatre throughout the Northern New Jersey/New York City area. In 2009, owners Ryan and Jenn Pifher opened a studio and performance space in beautiful Glen Rock, NJ. This 5,000 square foot facility features a black box theatre, large dance studio, and multiple studios and private lesson rooms.

For several years, Porch Light's annual line-up included Main Stage plays and musicals for adults, family-friendly shows, live music nights, and classes and programs for all ages. In 2017, Porch Light decided to refocus their mission and place the emphasis on educational theatre programs. Since then, they have become the area's leader in theatre and arts education, reaching thousands of students and audience members each year.

An introductory program for our youngest stage stars, Academy Mini will guide our K-2 students through the rehearsal process with our fun, engaging theatre workshops. Students will perform a final showcase for families at the end of each session. This program includes a fall, winter & spring session.



Academy Mini

Designed for our elementary-age students, the Academy Junior program provides focused acting, singing and movement/dance training for students that love to be on stage. Our methods focus on enhancing skills through the rehearsal process, teaching students the fundamentals and growing skills within our theatre workshop curriculum. Past shows have included Little Mermaid Jr, Descendants Jr, Matilda Jr, Moana Jr, Frozen Jr, The Lion King Jr and more. Each season includes a fall, winter, spring & summer production!



Academy Jr

Designed for middle and high school students, our Academy program offers students the opportunity to improve performance skills while working on exciting contemporary projects. Working closely with arts educators, students receive training in acting, singing and movement/dance in preparation for their final performance. Previous Academy productions have included Something Rotten, Urinetown, 9 to 5, Heathers, Little Shop of Horrors, Into the Woods, Drowsy Chaperone, The Wedding Singer and more.
