At Petals in the Pines, we recognize the importance of nature in the lives of children and adults alike. Our mission is to create a safe and nurturing environment where children of all ages can experience the wonders of nature and adults can pursue their own exploration of the natural world. Our natural activity centers provide an opportunity for children to engage in unstructured play and activities that help increase concentration, build creativity, and relieve stress.
For teens and adults, we offer a number of programs and activities that encourage exploration of the natural world. From guided nature hikes and birding expeditions to outdoor photography and painting workshops, we strive to provide opportunities for adults to get outside and discover the beauty of nature. Our knowledgeable staff is available to answer questions and provide advice on the best places to observe wildlife or explore a new trail.
At Petals in the Pines, we are committed to helping children and adults connect with nature in a safe and nurturing environment. With a variety of programs for all ages, we strive to inspire a lifelong appreciation of the natural world.
We have a great reading selection for our Tale Trails this year. Stories will come to life for kids as they walk the trails and read, or have read to them, pages from nature books.

Spread Your Wings
During "Spread Your Wings" days we open our Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom for discovery time and unstructured play. Make use of our Arbor Day-certified play areas . . . build a fort in the Mossy Messy Area, create a nature craft at the Indian Paintbrush Nature Art Area, water vegetables or look for worms in the Peter Rabbit Garden, or build a Fairy House in our Fairy Village. We let the kids take the lead by doing what interests them the most -- we'll provide a safe and nurturing environment. Children of all ages, as young as infants, will enjoy their experience here.

Pollinator Workshop
The Pollinator Workshop will be held in our Arbor Day Foundation-certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom. Come prepared for some uneven terrain and prolonged standing. Please dress for the weather, wear good walking shoes, and bring a water bottle. If applying bug spray here, please do so in our parking area, away from the pollinators.
