To achieve this, we offer a variety of programs that introduce children to the wonders of nature and get them outside to explore. 

The Nature Connect mission is to help children establish a lifelong connection with nature and its many benefits. With the rise in technology use, it's increasingly important to get kids away from screens and back to nature. Studies have shown that spending time in nature can lead to a range of positive changes in children, including increased attention span, improved self-esteem, and enhanced problem-solving skills.

At Nature Connect, we strive to foster a love of nature in kids by providing programs and activities that allow them to explore and appreciate their natural environment. We also believe that these experiences will lead to stronger social connections between children and a greater understanding of the importance of environmental stewardship.

Ultimately, our goal is to provide children with the tools and opportunities to develop a deep bond with nature, resulting in lifelong curiosity, compassion, and connection. We believe that such an understanding and appreciation of the natural world is essential for a healthier, happier future.

Nature Connect’s Farm School is an educational outdoor enrichment program, not a licensed school. Parents understand they are responsible for supplementing their child’s education to meet their individual needs. While we do use NC educational standards as general guidelines we are not licensed or required to meet them. Please take this into consideration when planning for your child's personal educational experience. Parents of children ages 7 and over understand they are required to register as a home school with North Carolina’s DNPE and follow their guidelines.



Farm School

Our Nature Explorers Program is for families with children ages 6-12 looking to supplement their homeschool curriculum with nature-based exploration and play. Through games, crafts, stories, song and adventure children learn how to take healthy risk in a safe way while developing a deeper connection to themselves, the natural world and their community. Skills introduced include plant identification, animal tracking, shelter building, fire safety (lighting a fire using various methods, fire structure, extinguishing a fire, the responsibility of using fire), bird language, knife safety and woodcarving, storytelling, and hazard awareness. 



Nature Explorers Program (Ages 6-12)

Forest Families is an introduction to Nature Connect for young children, and a fun way for parents and other guardians to get involved! A typical day at Forest Families includes a short wander around the park, through the forest or the farm, stories, songs and more! Class size is limited to 6 families.

Nature Connect NC

The joys of plants, insects, and animals, as well as being outside, are shared with children by kind leaders who are motivated by nature! It is so pleasant to interact meaningfully with children without the use of toys or gadgets. The creator and professors have a genuine heart for the young students, and their enthusiasm is contagious!
