Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR) provides opportunities for the Durham community to get active and connect with each other. DPR’s mission is to support the City’s Strategic Plan by helping residents get outside and explore the outdoors, stay healthy, and learn new skills for a lifetime. With creative and challenging recreational activities, DPR is dedicated to helping residents stay physically, mentally, and socially healthy.

From outdoor activities to sports to fitness classes, Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR) has something for everyone. With a variety of recreational activities to choose from, DPR strives to give residents the opportunity to stay physically fit, mentally alert, and socially engaged. Aquatics

Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR) coordinates a wide variety of sports for all ages. From volleyball to soccer, kickball to basketball, there are lots of opportunities to Play More with DPR.

Athletics

Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR) seeks to offer diverse recreational programs for persons with disabilities by providing programs such as Special Olympics and by making accommodations within all other DPR programs and services. DPR strives to make our programs, services, and facilities accessible for all individuals and families, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, or ability level.

The DPR is one of my favorites. They put up a lot of effort and pay attention to what our city parks need. Wrightwood Park may be seen from a portion of my backyard because I live near it. Although it is usually convenient to have a city park close to your home, the city has been renovating the park's structure and baseball field extensively.
