Martha Sue Crowley founded Charlotte Swim Academy (CSA) 30 years ago. Armed with a degree in early childhood education, Martha Sue discovered a natural talent and passion for teaching young children. She also had developed a strong affinity for the water. CSA was the perfect opportunity to combine both of her interests.
Since opening its doors in 1991, CSA has coached over 50,000 students to become successful swimmers. Many of the academy's graduates have gone on to become college-level competitive swimmers. For Martha Sue, however, the real rewards of teaching come from witnessing a child's transformation from fearful to joyful in the water, and watching them develop a newfound confidence. She knows that the positive effects of her work will be felt for years to come.
Martha Sue, now the mother of three, still runs the business. CSA is a family-owned and family-focused business, servicing hundreds of families in the Charlotte area. They are now happy to welcome the second generation of swimmers to their doors!
