BeAKid
TRAINING CHOIR
This choir is a mixed choir in that it is for both girls and boys who are committing to developing their vocal skills and launching into a relationship with a performing choral organization. Participants in the Training Choir focus on developing good choral tone, proper breathing techniques for singing, notation reading, and beautiful unison singing. They venture into some two-part music and “partner songs” but primarily focus on building strong and healthy vocal technique while acquiring a love for choral music in this unique integrated arts program.

CONCERT CHOIR
The Concert Choir is made up of boys between the ages of nine and fourteen years and who come from many different schools around the area. For many years, this choir has presented it’s art to people across the United States and parts of Canada, as well as in it’s own home state. The choir has appeared twice on UNC’s Center for Public Television in a special feature entitled Christmas at the Governor’s Mansion and was featured on “North Carolina People” with Dr. William Friday in December of 2005. The choir has also been featured on News14 many times, and recently in NBC17’s LIVE program “Tree of Lights” at Southpoint Mall. This group also presents two major concerts each year during Christmas and Spring, collaborates with various performing organizations in North Carolina, and participates in several smaller engagements throughout the year. The Concert Choir also goes on tour at least once a year throughout the United States or abroad.

CHAMBER CHOIR
The Chamber Choir of tenors and basses is made up of NCBC alumni, NCBC family members and members of the Triangle community. Members must be high school aged, or older, to be eligible to participate in the Chamber Choir. Some older Concert Choir choristers also sing with the Chamber Choir.

PRIMA CHOIR
Prima (meaning “first”) is an advanced ensemble and the principal performing group within the North Carolina Girls Choir. Prima Choir offers a challenging and exciting artistic adventure into choral music. This ensemble features girls from upper elementary through high school, and continues to develop good singing techniques and reading skills, but in addition, they work on part singing and performance practice to a much higher level. Our girls grow and improve their singing and presentation skills as they rehearse semester after semester, year after year.
