She has been riding since she was three and brings over a decade of equestrian experience to the table. She started out at Bittersweet Farm in Franklin, MA, where she learned the basics and competed in the lead-line division. Even during her elementary school years, when she took a break from structured riding lessons, she still got to enjoy riding her family’s BLM mustang pony. When she returned to formal riding lessons in middle school, she was able to take her equitation skills to the next level and compete in local shows.

Empire Equestrian offers private riding lessons or small group lessons. Private lessons are range from 30-45 minutes depending on the goal of the lesson. Our group lessons consist of 2-3 riders; in order to be eligible for group lessons, riders must be able to ride independently at the walk, trot, & canter. Lessons include tacking & untacking until riders are given permission by the trainer to come early to groom & tack on their own. Our lessons have a strong emphasis on safety & establishing a solid foundation.

Out of the 13 years I've been riding horses, Mackenzie is the best instructor I've worked with. Her fees are fair, and all of her classes are private. She also communicates effectively. The time spent with her one-on-one is extremely significant, and she does a fantastic job of putting former riders back in condition. You can see that she gives the barn and the horses her first priority because of how well she takes care of them. Overall, it's a wonderful place, and I can't wait to collaborate with her much more!
