At Miniwanca, life is simpler and more fun! Nestled on 360 wooded acres with a mile of private Lake Michigan shoreline and two lakes, Miniwanca is a tranquil and picturesque setting for learning and growth. Miniwanca's towering sand dunes and pines line the beach, creating an idyllic environment for swimming, sailing, and canoeing. The AYF mission is the cornerstone of the camp's programming, which is designed to help young people recognize their own potential and refine their values. With an emphasis on working together as a community, Miniwanca provides youth with an opportunity to explore and discover in a safe and supportive environment.
A four-day fun, outdoor educational experience for youth entering grades 7 and 8 from the Detroit and Wayne County areas who are new to summer camp experiences. This camp aims to provide more equitable access to the outdoors and American Youth Foundation programs by offering a low-cost, mini-camp experience. Miniwanca staff lead activities designed to introduce youth to the outdoors and experience living joyfully in nature.
