Ohiyesa has an illustrious history and we are proud to continue upholding its legacy. Camp Ohiyesa is the embodiment of a spirit of community, exploration, and learning that Dr. Eastman himself embodied in his life. We strive to provide children with a safe and fun environment to explore, grow, and gain a greater understanding of the world around them. We are accredited by the American Camp Association, guaranteeing that our programs meet the highest standards for health, safety, and program quality.
Day campers at Ohiyesa are separated by grade into one of four groups; Jolee (K-2), Casper (3-4), Alastair (5-6) & Royale (7-8). The daily schedule that your camper follows will be determined by the group they are placed in, with age-appropriate schedules being set throughout. Younger campers (Jolee & Casper) will follow a set schedule taking them through all of the activities on offer at a set time, while Alastair & Royale campers are offered more choice on the activities they do each day, while always having the option to take in everything during their week.

Overnight camp
Overnight campers gain independence, build friend-making skills, challenge their limits, explore the natural world, and create lifelong habits of healthy living. Each overnight camper chooses two skill areas that he or she will learn and attends those clinics every day, providing an opportunity for substantial skill progression. Campers also choose daily cabin challenge activities with their bunk mates, enjoy laid back siestas, take part in all camp evening programs like campfires and capture the flag, as well as ride the slide or take on the lake during swim time.

Outdoor Education trip
An Outdoor Education trip provides opportunities for students and educators to bond through shared experiences like the bog walk, teams course, or the evening campfire, which can help to strengthen the school’s sense of community. Day trips and week-long programs are available. Our most popular program is a 3-day, 2-night experience.
We work closely with teachers to supplement the classroom curriculum with hands-on experiences. Camp Ohiyesa Outdoor Education Leaders receive formal training to deliver experiential learning activities. In addition, they’re passionate about helping children learn and grow.
