At Lake Michigan Academy, we believe that all children have the right to an education and are committed to helping children with learning disabilities and/or ADHD succeed. Our certified teachers provide personalized instruction in small classes which focus on developing literacy skills. We also understand that every student is unique and that different learning strategies are needed for each individual. Our programs and curriculum goals are tailored to provide students with the opportunity to fully develop their strengths and access accommodations that will help them overcome their challenge areas. 

We strive to teach our students how to become their own best advocates and how to be active participants in their own educational planning. We aim to provide our students with the tools and strategies needed to help them succeed and grow into confident and independent learners. Lake Michigan Academy's 2023 in-person five-week summer program will take place June 19 - July 28* this summer and will provide students entering grades 1-8 with individualized instruction in reading, writing, and math. Our program combines the expertise of LMA faculty with research-based techniques to provide students with learning disabilities and/or ADHD with skill-based instruction and success.

5-Week Remedial Program

Summer is a great time to make gains in reading! Turning Pages offers one-on-one in-person and remote tutoring. These tutorials are open to students of all ages, including grades 9-12. We can help your child make gains in reading with individualized lessons based on your child’s needs. Lessons are hands-on, multisensory, and created for your child. Take advantage of our flexible summer sessions and give your child the boost they need to be successful in the coming school year. 

Orton-Gillingham Tutoring

Turning Pages offers one-on-one, in-person and remote tutoring. These tutorials are open to students of all ages, including grades 9-12. Your child will learn and understand basic math concepts and calculations using a hands-on, visual approach.  The instructor will develop a learning plan based on your child's needs. These individualized lessons teach the skills that will help your child find success and confidence with math.
