The Clarkston Conservatory of Music has been educating and enriching the lives of Oakland Country and Clarkston residents since 1961. Founded by Ivan Rouse, the conservatory is now run by Dr. James Wilhelmsen, and is housed in an 1830s building located in the Historic District of Clarkston. 

The Conservatory provides instruction to all ages and levels without requiring an audition. Further, their instrumental and vocal instructors are all highly qualified, with advanced degrees in their field. The Conservatory is part of the top 5% of Kindermusik programs for children aged 0-7 and has been awarded the Maestro designation. 

The Clarkston Conservatory of Music is committed to providing the best music education and experience to the people of Oakland County and the village of Clarkston. With experienced and qualified instructors, and a range of programs for all ages and skill levels, the Conservatory is the ideal place to learn and grow your passion for music.

Big Back Yard! May Classes: Parks, playgrounds, and yards of all shapes and sizes were made for play, play, play! Our bodies get a gross-motor “goose” when we go on a pretend adventure in our Big Back Yard.

Kindermusik Spring

Silly All Over: Catch a case of the giggles! Tap into the joy of laughter as we wiggle, boing, and jiggle through this unit full of silly sounds and silly moves. Wound through the silliness is a firm base of developmentally appropriate activities, where we’ll practice stop-and-go motion, experience up and down, use our fine-motor skills, incorporate vocal play, and tickle our sense of humor all at the same time. Hold onto your funny bones – we’re about to get Silly All Over!
