About Little Waves Swim

At Little Waves Swim Academy, Maine’s premiere swim survival program, we understand that providing your infant or child with life-saving aquatic survival skills is of the utmost importance. Our highly trained instructors are ready to teach your child the necessary skills to survive in water and provide them with the confidence to be an independent swimmer. Through our hands-on, one on one approach, we are dedicated to providing a swim program personalized to your child's age appropriate level. Our program is designed to teach aquatic survival skills in just 3-6 weeks, and is available to children ages 6 months to 8 years. Sign up today and give your child the confidence of a lifetime!

Infant Survival: (6- 12 months)
This 4 week program teaches infants six to twelve months to roll over from a face down or submerged position on their back to float, relax and breathe. Lessons are one-on-one, 4 days a week, Monday-Thursday. Each lesson is 10 minutes long for 4 consecutive weeks.

Infant Aquatics: (12 months- 4 years)
This 6 week program teaches toddlers who are walking and young children the swim-float-swim sequence. Children will learn to swim a short distance by kicking. with their face fully submerged, roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe. Then, flip back onto their tummy to continue to swim. The swim-float-swim sequence serves as the foundation for future stroke development. Lessons are one-on-one, 4 days a week, Monday-Thursday. Each lesson is 10 minutes long, for 6 consecutive weeks.

Swim Wizards: (4 - 8 years )
Children will learn to perform the swim-float-swim sequence in preparation for introductory stroke techniques. Lessons are one-on-one, and are offered 4 days a week Monday-Thursday.
