Our center-based programs use Teaching Strategies GOLD, which is an assessment, reporting, and curriculum planning system. This helps us to plan meaningful activities that match your child’s strengths, needs, and interests, to track his or her progress on these over time and to build a strong foundation for your child to be ready to succeed in school. The Guild is very proud to have taken a leadership role in educating our teachers. All Preschool classrooms have a teacher with a bachelor’s degree in Early Education or a related field. Many of our teacher assistants have associate degrees or are currently enrolled in college. In addition to our child care programs providing children with developmentally appropriate learning environments, the Guild also offers working parents the following supplemental services for your children: nutritious meals, and behavioral health services and referrals. The Guild also offers transportation for parents/guardians who qualify. In doing so, we serve the whole child in order to aid you in your role as you raise your child.... Show more

Quality infant-toddler care is exceptionally important since the first three years of life is a highly significant period in the development of a child’s brain. During this time the framework of a child’s brain is formed through the interactions the child makes with the people and things in his or her environments. If the interactions are comparatively limited then this results in the brain formation becoming relatively simple while varied and frequent interactions contribute to creating a more complex brain structure. Loving, frequent and varying interactions with caring adults result in the structure of the child’s brain to grow strong and become complex. This then sets up the child well to become progressively socially, emotionally and cognitively involved with the people and things in his or her surroundings. ... Show more
In all of our classrooms we use stimulating and engaging learning materials so that your child explores and has fun learning. Since young children learn best through play and by direct interactions with objects they can see and touch, classrooms are designed as learning centers with hands-on manipulative objects, and a variety of materials that allow children to make decisions on their own, thus learning through playful interactions. These include blocks and toys, a dramatic play and art center, music, sensory play, a reading/book corner, a writing center and a science center. ... Show more
The Guild of St. Agnes offers school age programs in the Fitchburg, Gardner, and Worcester communities. The Guild transports from several schools to the center. Open to children enrolled in kindergarten through grade 6, these programs are designed to meet the full range of each child’s developmental, social and emotional needs. Homework assistance, enrichment and recreational activities along with health and life skills training make up our daily activities. We know that children who are safe and feel nurtured become responsible and resilient adults, which are our goals and the foundation of our program. ... Show more
