About Moppets Childcare Center

At Moppets, our curriculum is designed to work in a building block format, using prior knowledge to learn further. Our theme-based curriculum incorporates seven learning content areas that support and gently extend the children's learning environment, ensuring children grow in all areas of development. We believe that children learn best by doing, not by merely repeating what someone says. Through active thinking and experimenting through hands-on play, children will create social relationships, work on physical development, language and literacy, science and math, art and creative expression as well as social studies. ASL (American Sign Language) is also part of our curriculum in all age groups. At Moppets, we strive to create a learning environment that is clean, organized and easily navigated to promote creativity and independence. Our teachers observe the children and adjust the curriculum to suit the individual development of the class. We are committed to providing a stimulating and encouraging atmosphere that encourages children to explore, interact with their peers, and to develop their skills and knowledge. We are passionate about helping children reach their fullest potential in all areas of development.

Infant Program

Our infant program is more than just daycare. Infants are cared for by knowledgeable, warm and loving caregivers. Every infant receives individual attention and personalized care to meet their needs. Infants develop literacy and language skills through story time and ASL sign language. They create works of art using handprints and footprints. Infants work on their every expanding motor skills and play with their peers. A daily sheet is sent home each night that will show parents when a child ate, drank and diapered throughout the day.

Toddler Program

Our toddler program is fun and always on the move. Toddlers seem to have a never-ending amount of energy that we have them expel through the use of age-appropriate toys and a fun themed based curriculum. Our toddlers are encouraged to use their words and are always growing their ever-expanding vocabulary through the use of ASL, story time, photo cards and questions. Toddlers have daily creative time that can include arts and crafts, dancing or music depending on the day. We create learning experience through play in a safe and nurturing environment.

Pre-School Program

Our Pre-School program is themed based. Themes are designed to be engaging, educational, challenging and fun! Teachers work on fine motor skills, and children learn to trace and write their names and the alphabet. Students have daily language and literacy time, daily ASL and learn to work and play with their peers. Pre-School children develop their phonemic awareness and learn how to match letters with sounds. Pre-School students have daily creative expression time which can range from art, music or dance. Students have a science or math topic every day which can include activities such as number recognition, counting, weather, patterns or shapes.
