About The Piano Studio of Winchester in Winchester, MA
The Piano Studio offers a safe, socially distanced learning environment. It includes a two-room studio in my Winchester home, with a waiting room and a lessons room with a Baldwin grand piano. To ensure safety for everyone, I sit more than 8 feet away from the student, and more than 6 feet away from the observing parent. The student and parent are on one side of the room, and I am on the other side. I have a small table to my right on which I rest my hand to demonstrate techniques, and a music stand to my left on which is the student’s music. To maintain safety, I wear a mask, and both the student and parent wear masks. A long, nice-looking old wooden ski rests on the floor near the piano to mark the students' part of the lesson room. The lesson room is air-conditioned for comfortable summer lessons. I also wash the piano keys, door knobs, and seats between lessons.
The Piano Studio provides a unique learning experience for piano students of all ages. From young beginners to seasoned professionals, I strive to make learning enjoyable and lasting. I work to create a positive atmosphere that encourages students to pursue their musical goals. During each lesson, I focus on technique, but also on the student’s personal goals and interests. I also strive to keep parents involved in their child’s musical progress and goals. By combining a safe, socially distanced studio with a positive and supportive atmosphere, students of all ages can find joy in learning and playing the piano.
