About Village Green Preschool in Sterling, MA

Located at the First Church in Sterling Center, Village Green Preschool (VGP) is a nonsectarian, nonprofit organization that has been providing children with a safe and loving environment since 1980. This school is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). VGP offers a developmentally based program for children aged three, four and five years old. The school focuses on the development of self-concept, independence, and respect for individual differences. A VGP Parent Advisory Board is responsible for overseeing policy, personnel decisions, and the maintenance of the facility. Village Green Preschool strives to provide an environment that encourages children to develop their self-concepts, independence, and individuality. CLASS SESSIONS

meet two, three, four or five days per week, either in the morning from 9:15-11:45 AM or in the afternoon from 12:30-3:00 PM. An extended day option for lunch is also available for a small additional fee. The school year begins the week after Labor Day and ends just prior to Memorial Day.

utilized to accomplish the goals of the program and facilitate the theme related daily activities. These include dramatic play, blocks, science, music, art, cooking, manipulative games and puzzles and a sensory table featuring sand/water play. A well-equipped playground is available adjacent to the preschool providing for gross motor skill building.
