About Fighting Arts Academy
At our school, we make it a priority to teach the values of traditional martial arts. We emphasize the importance of respect for parents and peers, as well as the value of hard work and perseverance. Our world champion fighters serve as role models for the children, demonstrating the humble and kind nature of Muay Thai. The children can observe first-hand how Muay Thai builds strength and confidence, while never being used in a violent or aggressive manner.
Our school provides an ideal learning environment for children to gain an understanding of the power of personal growth and the importance of finding alternative solutions to fighting, both physically and verbally. We believe that by teaching the values of traditional martial arts, children can benefit both individually and as a society.
Programs
The classes, camps and experiences this business offers.
Kids Martial Arts Program
This program focuses on improving children’s listening and motor skills while building confidence and respect for themselves and others.
We are pleased to offer our Kids Muay Thai and Submission Grappling Programs. All classes are taught by an accomplished instructor along with an assistant instructor to ensure proper supervision. We make certain that Muay Thai and Grappling skills are practiced safely. True Muay Thai and Grappling concepts are taught in a child friendly manner including specialized games, emphasizing teamwork and individual accomplishment.
Jiu Jitsu
Jiu-Jitsu emphasizes ground fighting techniques and submission holds involving joint locks and choke holds. The premise is that most of the advantage of a larger, stronger opponent comes from superior reach and more powerful strikes, both of which are largely negated if wrestling on the ground; and if either fighter wants the fight to go to the ground, it will.
Kick Boxing
Muay Thai utilizes the 8-point striking system (punches, kicks, knees, elbows) and the ‘full’ clinch. The clinch in kickboxing is a means of tying up the opponent for a positional reset.
Our beginner class teaches you the basics of each of the points. The class is focused on technique and is taught both with and without a partner. During the beginner class you will also learn to hold pads for others. The class usually ends with 20-30 minutes of heart elevating cardio.
