About Rhode Island Budo Club

The Rhode Island Budo Club is proud to offer its students the chance to study Iaido, a traditional martial art known as "The art of drawing the sword". Developed by Hayashizake Jinsuke Shigenobu over 450 years ago, Iaido has evolved from the Samurai warrior class and continues to be practiced around the world. The club strives to maintain the preservation of the teachings of the late Masayuki Shimabukuro, passing these valued teachings on to new generations of martial art students and ensuring its continued tradition.
