Nido Program for Infants
Ages 8 weeks to 15 months
The Montessori infant environment at NMS is carefully prepared to allow for freedom of movement, development of independence, language and will. You will find a nurturing “homelike” environment that is both peaceful and engaging. The infant guides are observers of your child’s development and become an extension of your family sharing their observations and allowing for a routine or schedule that follows your infants natural sleep and feeding patterns.

Toddler Program
Ages 16 – 33 Months
Toddlers are a beautiful blend of curiosity, enthusiasm, love and light. They need a flexible balance of love and support, and opportunities for space and independence. Our Toddler Classroom offers children a first step in extending their world of trusted people into another safe and nurturing environment outside the home. Toddlers awaken to the joy of navigating new relationships and indulge their natural curiosity through new activities and the use of new materials.

Our Children’s House is for children ages 2.9 through 6 years old. At Newburyport Montessori we approach each child with love and understanding. We provide our students with a nurturing and compassionate environment that enables children to: develop autonomy; establish comfortable and productive peer relations; learn basic skills and concepts necessary for intellectual development; and keep a sense of wonder and appreciation for the world.
