As part of this mission, the BPZOO recently achieved American Zoological Association (AZA) accreditation. This means that the BPZOO meets the highest standards set by AZA for animal care, exhibit quality, educational programming and conservation projects.
Having attained this distinction, the BPZOO joins a select group of only 240 accredited zoos and aquariums in the United States, out of the more than 2,400 animal exhibiters licensed by the US Department of Agriculture. The AZA is committed to improving the quality of life for animals while also educating the public about wildlife, their habitats and conservation strategies.
With AZA accreditation, the BPZOO continues to be at the forefront of global wildlife conservation and will ensure that animals receive excellent care and the public is well-informed about wildlife and their habitats.
