At Framingham Aikikai, the instructors have been teaching Aikido for over 20 years, earning praise for their dedication to the martial art as taught to them by the late Mitsunari Kanai Sensei. Founded in 2000 by Sensei David Halprin and Sensei Barbara Britton, the school has grown to meet the needs of the community.
Aikido is a great way for adults and children to improve their mental and physical health. It is a martial art which is practiced cooperatively so that students can have fun while learning self-defense and improving their concentration, awareness and self-confidence. Unlike other martial arts, Aikido does not rely on force to neutralize an attack, but rather uses the momentum of the attack to blend and redirect it.
At Framingham Aikikai, the instructors have been teaching Aikido in the traditional way for two decades, providing an excellent opportunity for the community to learn and benefit from this martial art. Under the guidance of Sensei David Halprin and Sensei Barbara Britton, students can learn and grow in their Aikido practice while feeling safe and supported.
