The Evergreen Center, founded in 1982 by Dr. Robert F. Littleton, Jr., provides day and residential treatment services for children and adolescents with severe developmental disabilities. Our students are supported by a multi-disciplinary team of trained professionals, dedicated to helping them reach their maximum potential. We believe that social competence and community participation are essential to successful instruction, so our individualized education programs are based upon the principles of applied behavioral analysis and evidence-based practice.
Parents are an important part of the Evergreen team, providing key information and setting realistic goals for their child's individualized education program. Our residential neighborhoods are located in the beautiful Blackstone Valley region of Massachusetts, and students travel to and from our school each day. We strive to provide an enriching environment in which students can develop to their fullest potential, weaving instruction into their daily activities and living environments.
The Evergreen Center's Community Services Division is committed to integrating and maintaining children within their communities. Guided by the goal of keeping families intact, Evergreen works with and for the family to help them determine their needs and design a program based upon family strengths. Evergreen provides services within maximum familial, neighborhood and community supports. The Community Services Division's aim is to empower individuals and families by fostering family independence.
