About Medfield Afterschool Program in Medfield, MA
The Medfield Afterschool Program (MAP) is a non-profit organization founded by parents in 1989 to ensure that children enrolled in Medfield Public Schools have access to quality care. Fully licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, the program cares for kids ages 4 and up, including those in Kindergarten through 6th grade. KINDERGARTEN - FIRST GRADE
At MAP, the enriching social, experiential and learning opportunities that are provided by our experienced educators, nicely complements and enhances the kindergarten & first grade day. With the MA Curriculum frameworks, educators choose topics, themes, projects, clubs, and activities, that build upon their knowledge base and expanding their learning. In addition, we have the time to allow children to learn in a more hands-on and fully involved way. We reach all different learning styles by presenting material in a variety of fun and exciting ways! In thinking of the whole child, there is a planned balance of structured learning, play, utilization of teachable moments, opportunities to answer and expand upon their questions and interests, and their ability to choose areas and activities that interest them.
