The Karate School, Inc.

The Karate School, Inc. is an environment of positive reinforcement, where children gain self-esteem as they are given opportunities to function independently from parents and to request help. Relays, games and karate fundamentals lead to improved strength, flexibility and manipulative skills. Great moments of focus grow into 15 to 20 minutes of focus during a 30-minute class. As the student’s listen skills improve, they may be invited to join the next level of classes, Little Samurais.

The Karate School, Inc. is an environment of positive reinforcement, where children gain self-esteem as they learn to be more independent. Relays, games and karate fundamentals lead to improved strength, flexibility and manipulative skills. As the children progress, these activities adapt to further develop physical strength, coordination, balance, mental focus, personal confidence and a spirit of group cooperation. At the end of each class children earn a star or stripe for their efforts. When they have earned 8 of each, then they are eligible to graduate to their next rank. The ranking system for the the Little Samurais is different from the regular kenpo ranking system. Little Samurai belts have a colored stripe that runs down the middle of a white belt. As the student’s listening skills improve for the 30-minute class, they may be invited to join the next level of classes, Karate for 6-8 Years.

The Karate School, Inc. is an environment of positive reinforcement, where children gain self-esteem as they learn the kenpo curriculum. Relays, games and karate fundamentals lead to improved strength, flexibility and manipulative skills. As the children progress, these activities adapt to further develop physical strength, coordination, balance, mental focus, personal confidence and a spirit of group cooperation. Students are invited to participate in outside demonstrations and tournaments. Instructors encourage students to ask questions and challenge students to bring their best effort to class. We describe our class room as “The Room for Mistakes” because if a student doesn’t make a mistake, we don’t have any work. Students advance as quickly as they are able to learn and perform the skills for their rank.
