Camp Nashoba™ offers a unique summer experience for kids of all ages and backgrounds. Located in a wooded area northeast of Boston, the camp provides traditional camp activities, such as swimming, horseback riding, fishing, woodworking, tennis, and target sports. The experienced and dedicated staff of counselors provide instruction in all these activities, as well as in water sports, nature, and waterskiing. Kids can also learn windsurfing and wakeboarding. With activities for children as young as five, Camp Nashoba™ provides a safe and fun environment for boys and girls to explore and grow.
The waterfront at Nashoba is an active place where children learn and practice many skills on Fort Pond. One mile long and one quarter mile wide, Fort Pond offers an ideal setting for swimming and all watersports: sailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, paddle boarding, rowing, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Red Cross swimming instruction is offered once a day for levels 1-6 and lifeguard training for those who pass level 6 and free swim is offered every afternoon in the lake and in the pool. Campers are required to pass a “Boaters” test prior to participating in the boating program at Nashoba. This consists of performing a front dive and a surface dive, treading water for two minutes, survival float for one minute and swimming a quarter mile across the cove accompanied by a staff member rowing a boat. All campers and staff are required to wear an approved PFD while boating on the water at Nashoba. Nashoba’s entire waterfront staff are certified ARC lifeguards and all of the counselors are CPR and First Aid certified. Many of the swim staff are ARC Water Safety Instructors and Lifeguard Instructors.
