About Berkshire Nature Camp in Lenox, MA

Berkshire Nature Camp is the perfect opportunity for families to give their children an unforgettable summer experience. Our campers have the chance to explore the natural world in a safe and supportive environment. They learn about the diversity of the local environment, develop an appreciation for the outdoors, and make friends that last a lifetime. At Berkshire Nature Camp, campers ages 3 to 17 are taken on a journey of discovery, learning about the wonders of nature in a fun and engaging way. From trail explorations to wildlife observation, there is an array of outdoor activities that campers can take part in. From hands-on activities to games and crafts, campers are sure to have a blast. Camp is offered at two locations—Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in Lenox and Canoe Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary in Pittsfield. Berkshire Nature Camp provides an exciting and memorable summer experience for families. Our campers learn about the local environment, develop an appreciation for the outdoors, and make lasting friendships. It's the perfect way for kids to make the most of their summer and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Programs at Berkshire Nature Camp in Lenox, MA

Discoverers Ages 5–6

Nature truly is a magical place where wonder and adventure are waiting to be discovered behind each and every tree. Explore Pike’s Pond, Yokun Brook, and the fields and forests at Pleasant Valley; play games, and sing camp songs. Look for pond creatures and build secret “gnome home” villages in the woods. Gain a greater connection to nature and curiosity about the outdoors, and learn how you can be a steward of the natural world.

Explorers Ages 7–9

Get curious this summer as you explore the far reaches of Pleasant Valley in search of the hidden wonders of the natural world. Be ready for days packed with new sights, sounds, smells, and games as you get to know the sanctuary’s many habitats: Hemlock forests, vernal pools, and beaver ponds await! Build survival shelters and learn to identify plants and animals. On Wednesdays, hike to the top of Lenox Mountain, and on Thursdays, venture to the far reaches of Pleasant Valley’s trails where no other camp groups go.
