About Thayer Conservatory

Today a new chapter in the history of the Thayer Mansion has begun. The Thayer Performing Arts Center is dedicated to enriching our community through music and the arts. We believe that the skills of perseverance, diligence, and dedication learned from studying music lead to accomplishment and service in many other areas of life. Our mission extends beyond this place and we are committed to bringing the best in performing arts to our community, while inspiring and nurturing our youth, so that they can reach their highest potential. We strive to be a positive presence in our community, providing access to the joy and beauty of music, art, and the performing arts.

Pre-School Classes
BRIGHT BEGINNINGS MUSIC CLASS for Preschoolers (ages 3-5) Wednesdays 11:00-11:45 Introduce your little ones to the wonderful world of music with traditional children’s songs, movement, rhythm instruments and circle time activities. Classes will be in the choir room, and as often as possible outside. Enrich your child’s musical experience in a safe, nurturing and fun environment with you at their side!

Chorus
THAYER HOME SCHOOL CHORUS – Wednesdays, 12:30 to 1:30 Chorus open for ages 6 to 18. Learn good vocal technique and sing in parts with varied repertoire including classical, spiritual, Christmas, and folk songs.

Theatre & Improv
THEATRE/IMPROV– Wednesdays 5:00-6:00 Using storytelling, pantomime, improvisation and theatre games, students will work on creative expression, tone, problem-solving, presentation, and collaborative skills. This workshop is designed to challenge and inspire students to stretch their brains and limits. A great class for both the seasoned performer and those new to the world of theatre who are looking to try it out.
