About Children's Music Center of Jamaica Plain in Boston, MA

At our Family Classes, parents and caregivers are encouraged to join their children in musical exploration. Our programs are designed to help children develop a strong foundation in music, including singing, instrument play, and movement. We’re thrilled to partner with Brookline Music School to bring our students an expanded range of music programming options. With our collaboration, children can build on their musical experience and take their learning to the next level. Private piano lessons and additional musical programs at BMS are now available for children ages 3 and up. Our instructors are top-notch and will help children find their passion for music and pursue it to their fullest potential.

Programs at Children's Music Center of Jamaica Plain in Boston, MA

BeAKid
INDOOR FAMILY CLASS (0-4 YEARS)

These 45-minute classes, attended by child +parent or caregiver, combine all the fun of music-making with a thoughtfully designed curriculum. Our lively class involves lots of adult participation, immersing children in activities which teach them music in the way that best fosters their music development. Classes combine songs, chants, movement, instrument play, and rhythmic & tonal patterns drawing from a rich variety of meters and tonalities. Families are invited to listen to songs from class at home, using a suggested shared listening playlist, accessible on two major music streaming platforms. Songs change each term.

CLASSES FOR KIDS 3+

CMCJP has formed a collaboration with Brookline Music School, where Christy is the Coordinator of Classes for Young Children. While CMCJP continues to offer our Family classes (birth-4 years) here in JP & Roslindale, plus our in-studio piano lessons at the Brewery, there are a wide variety of group classes available at BMS for children age 3+.
