About Valley Opportunity Council Child Care Centers in Chicopee, MA

The War on Poverty declared by President Johnson over 50 years ago has allowed us to make an impact in our local community and beyond. Our agency has grown and expanded programs to meet the changing needs of our community. We are proud to be part of the Community Action Agencies that were formed in response to this declaration. At Valley Opportunity Council, we are dedicated to providing and expanding services to those in need. We are committed to eradicating poverty in our community and beyond, through a combination of education, advocacy, partnership and collaboration. Our goal is to empower individuals and families to move out of poverty and become self-sufficient. We are proud to be part of the effort to fulfill President Johnson's dream of eliminating poverty in our country.

Programs at Valley Opportunity Council Child Care Centers in Chicopee, MA

BeAKid
Center-Based Child Care

VOC operates eight child care centers in Holyoke, Chicopee, and South Hadley for children ages 6 weeks to -12 years old. Our goal is to assist parents who are working, in training leading to employment, or have other special needs. We provide a complete education program, meals, opportunities for parent involvement, and after-school care (at Chicopee locations). All Center-Based classrooms are staffed by qualified Early Education teachers.

BeAKid
Before and After School Programs

The Gorse Before and After School Programs and the Mt. Carmel and Montgomery Street After-School Programs offer before and after-school activities to children ages 5 to 12. However, if a child is 5 years old, they must be in Kindergarten in order to be eligible for the after-school program
