Our experienced and knowledgeable staff provides an abundance of multi-sensory activities with fun and interesting materials, while encouraging experimentation and creativity. BeAKid
Art and Sensory Play with Backyartists
(Ages 18 mo – 4 yrs) – 45 minutes x 6 weeks Let two experienced early childhood educators engage your toddlers and preschool-aged children in art and sensory play during our weekly Backyartists Playgroup. Nicole and Rachel, owners of Backyartists, LLC, will sing songs, read a story, and invite children to explore process art and sensory play activities. These classes are for children ages 18 months – 4 years old, with a caregiver. Enrollment is limited to 9.

Draw, Paint, Build
(Ages 4-5) – 1.5 hrs x 6 weeks This semester we will focus on open-ended activities allowing for exploration and discovery!! While drawing with markers, oil pastels, colored pencils, and greasy crayons the students can experience different effects of these mark-making tools. Painting on paper, wood, and fabric can have surprising results depending on the types of paint and tools used to apply the paint. And, building with a combination of craft and upcycled supplies gives way to happy and fun inventions! Enrollment is limited to 6.

Crafting in Miniature
(Ages 6-8) – 2 hrs x 6 weeks From jewelry to books to sculpture, the activities this semester will be pocket-sized! In fact, tweezers will be a tool we use for some of the projects. :) Each week we will ‘package’ the mini creations in a new kind of handmade box or envelope or bag that the students learn to make. Enrollment is limited to 8.

Crafting in Miniature
(Ages 9-12) – 2 hrs x 6 weeks This semester will be a fun collection of crafting activities that are detailed, colorful, and pocket-sized! Felt, polymer clay, and shrink film will be the main focus, though many other supplies will be introduced into the projects. We will also combine felt with shrink film, polymer clay with sewing, plus other ideas the students are certain to have :) Enrollment is limited to 7 per section.
