About Animal Adventures

Ed and Brenda Laquidara, founders of Animal Adventures, are passionate about rescuing exotic animals and educating the public. Ed's lifelong passion for exotics began in his youth, and he went on to gain his PhD in Zoology, becoming one of the top 20 herpetologists in the world. Brenda owned a pet store with her sister Robin in Malden, MA for many years. In 1997, Ed and Brenda combined their knowledge and love for animals to create Animal Adventures. The organization provides a home to unwanted and unable to be cared for animals, while also traveling to schools, libraries, colleges, and other functions to teach people about these amazing animals. Animal Adventures also offers birthday parties and classroom visits, so everyone can come and learn about exotic animals! Animal Adventures is a unique opportunity to witness and learn about exotic animals in an up close and personal setting. With Ed and Brenda's passion and expertise, the rescue zoo is sure to be an experience to remember!

Owl Class

Experience the thrill of holding an owl! Come learn about our Eurasian Eagle Owls and how to hold them. These classes are very limited on space, and spots are first come, first serve.

Animal Science & Zoology School Educational Programs

Join our weekly Animal Science and Zoology classes every Wednesday during the school year from 9 am to 12 pm. Learn all about zoo management, conservation, animal behavior, and agriculture. Available for a wide range of ages from K-12th grade. Add some Adventure to your homeschooler’s week! At Animal Adventures Academy, our mission is to educate about the animal world through hands-on, interactive programs. Our school will follow the same mission, as your child learns the skills to help them along their path towards independence or a potential career in a fun, safe, engaging environment. Led by our trained staff and the zoo’s founder Dr. Edward Laquidara, your child can get a unique education unlike any other in New England.
