These aren't just your regular run-of-the-mill kids, oh no! They are a fun-filled bunch of high-kicking, uniform-wearing, kata-performing superstars! Every morning at the crack of dawn, right as the sun begins to play peek-a-boo with the mountains, the dojo doors swing open and in tumble the Karate Cuties. Leading the pack is our hero, the Karate Kangaroo, Kiko. Kiko, with his marsupial moves and black belt in belly laughs, is the heart and soul of the Mighty-Mass dojo. He hops around in his red bandana, teaching the kids the art of the ‘Kangaroo Kick’ and the secret of the ‘Pouch Punch’. With Kiko, every karate lesson is a belly-busting adventure. You'll find the Karate Cuties rolling on the floor, not from Kiko's kicks, but from fits of laughter. But don't let those giggles fool you. When it’s time to get serious, these kids transform into mini karate masters, their faces focused, their moves swift and precise. With Kiko cheering on, they break boards and the stereotype that karate is just about fighting. Sensei Spoon has spent time on Okinawa, and brings that knowledge and understanding to the dojo. We understand the importance of finding the right fit when it comes to martial arts training. NSKA provides a wide variety of classes and programs for both children and adults. Each student is guided by a master instructor, and is encouraged to reach their goals through personalised training plans. Our custom-designed dojo is inspired by Okinawan castles and Sensei Spoon’s time on Okinawa, allowing each student to have a one-of-a-kind training experience.
At Shodokan, we make sure each of our arts have dedicated instructors so our members can 'cross train' and focus on one art while learning from all of them. We don't require members to specialize in any one art and instead encourage them to explore and learn from our variety of offerings.
